This was a hard month to choose for. I have read so many amazing books and choosing one was really quite painful. So…I decided to do an author! I have read 2 books by Colleen Hoover and I plan on reading all of her books and I am loving her writing style.
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever. – GoodReads

I would definitely put these in a mix of YA & New Adult category. I feel like some of the content was more New Adult but it didn’t fit too much with a lot of the New Adult books I have read, which I L-O-V-E-D!!
What is so fantastic about this author is that she packs so much emotion in her books. What you expect isn’t what you always get and so it keeps you a little off balance. I found myself often wiping tears from my cheeks as I read and my chest hurt during moments as I read.
The plots are strong and complex giving the characters lots to deal with and allow for hurdles and growth without it cheapening the story. Hoover doesn’t shy away from the heavier topics either and that is something I like in an author. I want substance and she has delivered.
Cannot express how excited I am to get my hands on the rest of her books!
