Summary: We weren’t a relationship, we were a ticking time bomb…
Maggie Carpenter walked away from the hottest encounter of her life when she left the seductive glitz of England for summer break in her South Carolina hometown. Now that she’s returned to the International School in London—and sexy, privileged Samir Khouri is once again close enough to touch—she can’t help but remember the attraction, the drama … the heartbreak.
She can’t help but want him even more.
Samir can’t afford to fall for someone so far removed from his world, not when his time in London is running out. It’s his senior year—his last chance at freedom before he returns home to Lebanon. There, he’ll be expected to follow in his father’s footsteps—not follow his heart to Maggie. But when a scorching secret hookup becomes a temptation neither can resist, they’ll both have to fight to survive the consequences … and find a future together.
My Thoughts: I got hooked on the first book and was quite impatient waiting for this second book to come out! There is nothing fun about getting hooked into a book and then having to wait until the next book comes out. I lack pretty much all patience when it comes to these things and especially with this sequel. In fact despite knowing when the release was I continued to check Amazon.ca to see if the book had come out early and my pre-order had disappeared into cyber space. Needless to say, when this book showed up on my Kindle I did a happy dance and hid out until I was done the book.
Book #1 was amazing. I fell in love with Maggie and Samir and the cast of lovable unique characters; Fleur especially. The unknown world that Maggie fell into pulled me in; and I loved that in book #2 we got some growth from Maggie but she still read like herself.
The relationship between Samir and Maggie was explosive both emotionally and passionately. I loved them together and more importantly I loved the push and pull between these two. Nothing comes easy and there are so many emotions tangled up together that it makes me giddy. I love the angst; fairly certain I state that monthly but it is true!
If you loved the first book or want a really great New Adult read pick this one up! An amazing series and an author that I will continue to read books from!!
