Survival instincts take priority and everything changes. Can hope weather the storm? My Thoughts: This is not my first Candace Calvert book, I have read the rest of this series along with the Mercy Hospital Series. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them; some more than others. What I mostly enjoy about her works are that while there is a God element to it, it never is put right your face. It is more morals than the book preaching to you.

So what was sad about this book was despite me thoroughly enjoying Calvert’s previous work I was a bit disappointed with this one! I found the characters a bit repetitious and stiff. There is a difference when you are yelling at characters in a book due to being emotionally invested and when you are exhausted and frustrated with the book. I felt that more than anything. I really tried to get pulled in but this one fell flat for me.  ||  Chapters  ||  Goodreads
